Stone lanterns... the sea in April...

April is the start of the academic year here in Japan...
Which means to say, lots of things to do...
These pics were taken on one of our morning walks in the neighborhood...
There are some really beautiful stone lanterns in the gardens...
Pretty massive they are, and very well chiseled...
Folks from outside our hamlet come around to fish...
Views of ferries plying the routes...
After five years of looking at them, still a pretty sight...
Really...
And to close this quickie post,
another lovely 'masterpiece' cooked by my suweeto-haaato...
Noodles, buried under a heap of veggies, a little meat, and a tiny fish or two...

  4. lina... that huge ferry connects Takamatsu to Kobe... it is quite an experience riding on it as well...

Theanne... the walk path is absolutely a joy... no traffic, friendly fellow walkers, lots of birds singing, and plenty of fresh air on top of the views...

George... it is so good to be able to connect with you... an honor for me...

  9. Oh, I could fish there forever or just sit there and enjoy the pretty sight of rolling hills and ferries gliding along the big blue sea.

Those stone lanterns are so quietly elegant against the clear blue sky. Nice. And that yummy dish.. Thanks for sharing the beauty of what's around you, Professor. Happy good start to a new school year..
